We’re excited to announce the installation of a new Perry Weather System at Westwood Shores—designed to help keep our community safe and informed during changing weather conditions.
This advanced system provides real-time, on-site weather monitoring and will automatically alert residents and staff when potentially dangerous conditions are detected. Unlike standard weather apps, this system monitors conditions right here in our community, giving us more accurate and timely information.
We have had the stations installed at our Fitness Center, Maintenance Barn, East and West Side Mailboxes, and on holes 5 and 15.
What This Means for You
• Lightning Detection & Alerts on the Golf Course – Immediate warnings for golfers when lightning is detected nearby
• Audible Sirens & Visual Signals – On-site alerts to notify anyone outdoors to seek shelter
• Automatic “All Clear” Notifications – Clear indication when it is safe to resume outdoor activities
• Real-Time Weather Monitoring – Continuous tracking of weather conditions specific to our location
The system is designed to remove uncertainty and ensure everyone receives the same clear, reliable information at the same time, improving safety for all residents and guests.
When You’ll Hear or See Alerts
If severe weather—such as lightning—approaches the area, the system may activate:
• A siren or audible alert
• Flashing strobe lights
• Possible announcements or notifications
These alerts are your signal to seek shelter immediately. Once conditions are safe, the system will issue an “all clear.”
