FAQ:

  • WHO IS ALLOWED TO POST?
    • All owners should have an account but it might not be clear what your account login is. Accounts are based on the Trinity County Appraisal District data and the recorded owner name(s). One name in a record, there is only one preset Connections account or maybe your public first name is not the same as your legal first name, just to name a few anomalies. Try a username as you believe it would but if not successful, use the Contact for Site Support to find out.
    • Posting in Connections is based on rights as assigned per activity and / or group. There are exceptions, but with standing as a member of a Community Group, Connections gathers little to no posted data per individual. The data collected from an individual, outside a Community Group, is basically for everyone to be able report support needs either to request an owner account or account login information. Connections' sole communication is between the Communications committee and the owner. Currently, one Community Group gathers data from outside their members in the form of a RSVP. Connections itself is a portal of information outsourced to the community, but Connections Community Groups, just like their corresponding physical group, determines their own structural environment.
    • Requesting information to be listed on Connections follows the Westwood Shores Communications policy. Specifically, entries must be associated with the BoT, POA Admin, POA committees and/or community/county organizations, and provided as a community wide, public event. No entries focused on an individual without expressly requested from the WS BOT or the Community Manager and no private events will be accepted for publication. All events must occur within the Westwood Shores property. Off site entries for events that are not engaged within the Westwood Shores community are processed into the Connections Calendar only. An entry must be verified by an official source.
  • HOW DO YOU JOIN A GROUP?
    • Community Groups provided in Connections have been and can be requested by Westwood Shores established entities meeting the Westwood Shores Communications policy definition of a "Community Group". They must be a physical group with a membership established by that group's structure. In Connections that Community Group is a virtual reflection of that physical group. Basically, Connections just rents them space. On the whole, Community Groups are designed for member only access. You would need to see the chair, leader, etc. of that group to inquire on who, what, and how their virtual Community Group works. Currently there are several Community Groups open to all owners, Community Engagement, Susan Keel's NewsLog, and Neighborhood Watch. If your login does not allow you in these areas please let the Communications committee know so we can check on appropriate rights assigned. There are one or two Community Groups that are officers only access, as the group space is being renovated for its members.
  • EMERGENCY PLAN?
    • Currently being researched and developed by the POA BoTs.
  • DIFFERENCE BETWEEN APP AND WEBSITE?
    • The Connections website and App are one and the same in the information they contain. The website and App are what we call access points, or different ways to enter the same area. The choice is a matter of taste and needs of an individual. There are a few differences though.
      • The App display of the information and functions can be more condensed, less screen real estate than a computer to work with. The App uses symbols more than words or according style text displays.
      •  There could be a function not supported within the App so it opens using a web browser page or just goes blank. Report this and the committee will work to adjust it.
      • Both access points receive the notifications but only the App alerts you that you have a notification (pop ups).
    • Summary: The App is basically provided as a mobile way to quickly access information. The website is suited more for individual input through community engagement within Connections.
  • ONCE ON THE APP THE PASSWORD WILL BE IN THE SYSTEM! DON'T NEED TO POST?
    • To log in at any access point (Connections website or App), yes the password is recorded within the Connections system but two things.
      • The Connections administrator nor anyone else can retrieve a password from the Connections system, only change!
      • The user of a device logging in to Connections is in charge of knowing and saving their Connections account password. That log in data (username and password) is the exact same and required for log in no matter what access point (Connections website and/or App) is being used.
  • NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH JOIN?
    • There is a Neighborhood Watch (NW) digital application form linked in the right side pull out drawer both in website and App, the website menu under resources/community support/connections, and the QR code on the paper application at the clubhouse. All owners should have access within NW but if they were missed by reporting captains or the NW committee, it is recommended to complete an NW digital application that comes directly to the Connections administrator. It does not require an account logged in to submit an application.
