Board Committees – Purpose & Structure

Committees are advisory to the WS POA Board and meet as needed. The Community Managers are ex-officio members of the committee. Department Supervisors are invited to meetings as deemed necessary.

WS POA Board Liaison to Affiliated Entities

Jo Matthew – Chair

Purpose – to coordinate with and effectively communicate with affiliated entities and represent the interests of Westwood Shores POA at such meetings

WS POA Liaison with ACC

Deta Rogillio

Purpose – to serve as the non-voting POA Board liaison with the ACC in accord with Article 3 of the Consolidated, Restated and Amended RR&C for Westwood Shores. The Architectural Control Committee (ACC) is a five (5) person committee elected by the Property Owners. The purpose of the ACC is to review plans in order to ensure compliance with the RR&C’s thus establishing and preserving a harmonious and pleasing community. All exterior alterations and/or building construction must be approved in writing and may be monitored by the ACC.

POA Board Member Liaison with all standing committees

Purpose – to serve as the non-voting POA Board liaison with the committee to ensure all Governing Documents are followed in each committee

Standing Committees

EXECUTIVE COUNCIL

Members – Deta Rogillio – President,  Jo Matthew – Vice-President, and GM Cox – Secretary/Treasurer

Purpose – To preview major matters of importance or consideration as the officers of the Board and present recommendations to the Board accordingly

BUDGET COMMITTEE

Board Members –Rick Renfro - Chair, Jo Matthew, Deta Rogillio, Dahl Hansen, GM Cox, Susan Keel, and Cheryl Savage

Purpose –  The POA Board review each month of the POA financials and works with management to coordinate long-range plans developed by committees and departments and prepare the annual budget for presentation to the Board at the October Board meeting.

MAINTENANCE AND ROADS

Committee composition - POA Board member liaison, property owner members, and Maintenance Supervisor.

Purpose –  to help identify areas needing preventive maintenance or corrective action and to make recommendations to the Board regarding capital investments, repairs, and upgrades by reviewing streets, roads, drainage concerns, common areas, and facilities. The former Roads Committee and Maintenance Committee have been combined into one newly restructured Maintenance and Roads Committee. Because of this change, we ask that any prior members who are interested in continuing to serve please submit a new sign-up request for consideration.

COUNTRY CLUB

Committee composition - POA Board member liaison, property owner members to include Civic Club and Theater representatives, and 19th Hole.

Purpose – to serve in an advisory role for the 19th Hole Bar and Grill, as well as the interior and exterior of the Clubhouse. Working with the 19th Hole Manager and Community Manager, the committee reviews specific areas of concern and makes recommendations to the Board regarding capital investments, improvements, and upgrades.

GOLF AND RECREATION

Committee composition - POA Board member liaison, property owner members, Pro Shop Manager, and Golf Course Superintendent.

Purpose – to make recommendations, working with the Golf Course Manager, to the Board regarding recreational facilities, capital investments, improvements, and upgrades. This committee includes community members representing golf, pickleball/tennis, the Fitness Center, and the pool.

      NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH

      Committee composition - POA Board member liaison, property owner members.

      Purpose – to encourage neighbors to look out for 
      for one another, promote personal safety and community awareness, and help maintain the Neighborhood Watch Night Out Program. The committee may also make recommendations to the Board regarding safety-related needs, capital investments, or upgrades.

      COMMUNICATIONS

      Committee composition - POA Board member liaison, Communications Network Manager, property owner members.

      Purpose – to provide timely, clear, and factual information to the Westwood Shores community about events, announcements, and community concerns through the website WWSConnect.com. This committee is somewhat different from others because members may be selected based on technical, website-building, website-maintenance, or communications experience. If you have these skills, please include your area of experience when submitting your request.

      AD HOC COMMITTEES – TO BE FORMED AS NEEDED

      We encourage all interested property owners to consider serving. Committees are an excellent way to become more involved, learn more about the operations of the community, and help shape the future of Westwood Shores.
