Dear Westwood Shores Residents and Property Owners,
We would like to take a moment to share an important update on the progress of our community pool. First, thank you for your enthusiasm and support as we have moved forward with this exciting renovation of our pool.
As construction has progressed, we have made a number of enhancements to the original plan, which have been inspired by feedback and a desire to create a space that truly meets the needs of our community. These additions include features we believe will add long-term value, improve functionality, and enhance your overall experience once the pool is open.
However, as with many large-scale projects, the added scope has required additional time. We have just been informed that, due to these changes and the work still ahead, the pool will not be completed by the July 4th weekend as we originally hoped.
We know this is disappointing, as it is to us also, especially as summer is here. Please know this was not an easy message to share, but it is an honest one. And it reflects our firm belief that getting it done right and the way we want it is more important than getting it done in a specified timeline.
As of this week, the cement decking has been poured around the pool and has to cure for 28 days before the cool deck coating can be applied. Once that is done, the cool decking must cure for an additional 10 days. During this curing process, the electrical, water and sewer lines will be dug and connected. The dirt work surrounding the pool will take place thus allowing the fence to begin to be installed. Other work will continue during this time.
We want to remind everyone that the pools in Marina Village are available to be used. We ask you to follow their rules while enjoying the use of the pools. The Board of Trustees remains fully committed to delivering a pool that is safe, high-quality, and community-oriented. We appreciate your patience with this project, and hopefully, soon we will all be able to enjoy our new community pool.
