Westwood Shores Committee Opportunities
The Westwood Shores Property Owners Association Board of Trustees believes that strong communities are built when property owners are involved, informed, and willing to share their time and ideas. Our committees play an important role in helping the Board understand the needs, concerns, and priorities of the community.

Committee members assist the Board by gathering information, discussing community needs, and making recommendations for improvements, projects, and long-term planning. Your participation helps ensure that decisions are made with a broader and more representative view of what matters to Westwood Shores property owners.
The POA is now inviting property owners to sign up to be considered for service on one of our standing committees for the 2026–2027 year.

All committee members must be Westwood Shores property owners and must meet the Bylaws requirement of being in “Good Standing.” In general, this means the property owner is not delinquent in the payment of assessments and/or fines. Committee members may not be paid employees of the POA. A committee member must also be the record owner of a Building Site as shown in the Official Public Records of Trinity County, Texas.

Committee guidelines include the following:

  • Committee members for 2026–2027 will be selected by the current committee members.
  • Each committee will select a chairperson and recording secretary.
  • Each Board member will serve as a liaison to a committee but will not have voting rights.
  • The Community Manager may attend any committee meeting.
  • Members may serve a maximum of five years on one committee unless there are no new candidates.
  • It is recommended that each committee have a minimum of five and a maximum of nine members.

  • The following committees are open for annual sign-ups:
    Country Club Committee
This committee serves in an advisory role for the 19th Hole Bar and Grill, as well as the interior and exterior of the Clubhouse. Working with the 19th Hole Manager and Community Manager, the committee reviews specific areas of concern and makes recommendations to the Board regarding capital investments, improvements, and upgrades.
    Maintenance and Roads Committee
This committee reviews streets, roads, drainage concerns, common areas, and facilities. Its purpose is to help identify areas needing preventive maintenance or corrective action and to make recommendations to the Board regarding capital investments, repairs, and upgrades. The former Roads Committee and Maintenance Committee have been combined into one newly restructured Maintenance and Roads Committee. Because of this change, we ask that any prior members who are interested in continuing to serve please submit a new sign-up request for consideration.

    Golf and Recreation Committee
This committee includes community members representing golf, pickleball/tennis, the Fitness Center, and the pool. Working with the Golf Course Manager, the committee makes recommendations to the Board regarding recreational facilities, capital investments, improvements, and upgrades.

    Neighborhood Watch Committee
This committee encourages neighbors to look out for

for one another, promotes personal safety and community awareness, and helps maintain the Neighborhood Watch Night Out Program. The committee may also make recommendations to the Board regarding safety-related needs, capital investments, or upgrades.

Communications Committee
This committee helps provide timely, clear, and factual information to the Westwood Shores community about events, announcements, and community concerns through the website WWSConnect.com. This committee is somewhat different from others because members may be selected based on technical, website-building, website-maintenance, or communications experience. If you have these skills, please include your area of experience when submitting your request.

We encourage all interested property owners to consider serving. Committees are an excellent way to become more involved, learn more about the operations of the community, and help shape the future of Westwood Shores.
