2026 Westwood Shores POA Strategic Planning Survey Results
Attached is an e-file printout of the 2026 Westwood Shores POA Strategic Planning Survey Results, including all community comments provided; below, we: I) summarize the community’s surveyed respondents’ feedback as to their desired Board priorities, and II) list the Board’s planned next steps.
We would also like to note that, while only around 325 survey responses were received, we do feel that response number to be sufficiently representative of the preferences of engaged community members. As your Strategic Planning Committee undertakes future surveys, the Board does encourage the entire Westwood Shores Property Owning Community to participate in providing us with your guidance. Your survey votes and comments not only inform us of your desired priorities, but truly do help guide us in “road mapping” our Budgeting to incorporate your thoughts – we hope to enable us to most suitably put your Assessments to work for you on the community’s most highly prioritized operational, repairs, and improvements wants and needs.
Your Opinions Matter!
- Survey Results Summary:
- High Priority: Expanding the 19th Hole kitchen received the highest support, making it the most unifying project.
- Moderate Priority: Restroom updates, resurfacing pickleball/tennis courts, and paving overflow parking drew mixed but notable support.
- Low Priority: Repainting the clubhouse exterior, adding a billiards room, and installing an electric fireplace were generally seen as unnecessary or low-impact.
- Key Themes: Responding residents emphasized fiscal responsibility, prioritizing infrastructure (especially roads) over cosmetic changes, and balancing aesthetics with functionality.
- Next Steps:
October, 2026:
- Mid-month, the Board is meeting with a space planning designer who’s already been engaged to provide us with survey-results-based recommendations on downstairs clubhouse improvements.
- Our Budget Workshop for the upcoming year is even earlier this coming month (October 5th-9th). During it, the Board will identify the 2027 Capital Expenditure Budget, that is: funds available for discretionary spending, versus those required for operational expenditures and critically needed facilities and grounds repairs.
November, 2026: The Board will announce the approved 2027 Capital Expenditure budget, the planned 2027 Association improvements and repairs priorities, and the budgeted amounts for each.
